Muong Khuong/Cao Son/Coc Ly Adventure 2 days/1 night

On this trip, you’ll visit the least visited areas and admire the very spectacular mountainous scenery as well as explore the authentic culture and lifestyles of the local ethnic minority people.

Day 1: Lao Cai/Muong Khuong/Cao Son (B, L, D, G)

You’ll arrive at Lao Cai railway station in the early morning, where you’ll be met by your guide and taken to a good local restaurant near the station to freshen up and have breakfast. After that, you will enjoy a scenic drive to visit the Muong Khuong market (Sunday market) frequented by the ethnic minority groups. You’ll then drive to Cao Son Lodge where you’ll check in and have lunch.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit Ngai Phong Cho village of H’mong people. You’ll spend the night in Cao Son Lodge.

Day 2: Cao Son/Coc Ly/Lao Cai/Hanoi (B, L, G)

After breakfast, you’ll begin your walk to the most secluded yet peaceful village of Tin Thang. In this village, the local people still distill the wine from corn and make bacon in the most traditional and basic way. They also offer special corn cake to anyone who drops by their house. You’ll then continue your route passing by Sa Lung Cheng village and loop back to Cao Son Lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you’ll drive to Silaca village, home of the Flower H’mong ethnic minority people, which is one of the oldest villages in the Cao Son area where you can experience the unique customs and traditions of the daily life. Once you are in the village, you can admire the panoramic view of a lush valley on the banks of the Chay River. From there, you’ll drive for about 20 minutes before taking a boat cruise down the Chay River to Bao Nhai. You’ll hop on your vehicle to return to Lao Cai to freshen up and have dinner before boarding an overnight train back to Hanoi.

Note: if you can extend one more day, you will drive to Bac Ha for overnight accommodation and visit this area on the following day
